Many years ago, I attended a course in painting with acrylics as part of my degree. It turned out not to be the “piece of cake” I expected. Instead, it was long hours spent finding inspiration and agonizing over the end results. The great thing about the course was the way in which I began to view the world around, a particular shape, a quality of light or an arrangement of form. I still feel that joy as I continue to explore all that I see. I love colourful things and capturing images with watercolours has been a challenge. I have not had any formal training but do like to experiment. Thinking through each painting from the beginning, is a wonderful exercise for me as usually I tend to jump into things. Of course, with colours, all the thinking in the world may be of little help.
