Much of my inspiration comes from simplifying shapes that I find in the outdoors. While I am attracted to nature’s complexities, I like to represent them in more abstract ways. I believe this contributes to the contemporary aesthetic that I strive for in my work. I apply many of my designs directly to silver and gold surfaces by using the technique of chasing. I enjoy the physical motion of hammering patterns into metal as well as the immediacy and permanency of this method.
