When I was five years old, my grandmother first taught me to sew by hand in her kitchen. Just a simple embroidery on a pillowcase. Those sewing lessons had a profound impact onmy entire life. My artwork is part of a continual process of self-discovery. My art is deeply influenced by the beauty found in nature; it enriches my spirit, shapes the way I see colour; and inspires the work I have yet to begin.
Through my artwork, I try to explore the persistence of things in the world. This fascinates me! The sky, bodies of water, trees, and humanity…the strength of the human spirit…all of these things become symbols of endurance and timelessness.
Within my art, I strive to express my wonderment for the natural world, my deep-rooted sense of spirituality, and the ultimate mystery and beauty of life.
