My mother taught me to embroider as a young girl. However, it wasn't until after I graduated from art college that I picked up a needle again, this time working with paper rather than fabric. In the past few years I have been combining hand-stitching with my woodblock printing. The stitches echo and accentuate the textures and forms of the block prints. It's now hard to imagine doing one without the other.
