Canadian contemporary impressionist is the handle because I was born here and I am still alive, and impressionist because you have a pretty good idea of what you are looking at in my work. I paint in plein air (outside on location) and in the studio with the emphasis on alla prima (all in one session) to keep the work fresh, loose, colourful and gestural. I seek to engage the viewer in an experience of the character of light and the compositions that flow from that relationship of the pathway of light through a space.
